April 26, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

NAS in WV

Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) is a group of conditions caused when a baby withdraws from certain drugs that they are exposed to in the womb before birth. West Virginia has the highest rate in the country of babies born with NAS or drug-exposed. The toll it’s taking on these children, communities, and the state budget is profound. So, what can we do about it? Join us for a candid panel discussion with providers from around the state and learn more about what you can do to advocate for the littlest victims of our ongoing drug epidemic.

Panelists:

Cindy Chamberlin, PT- President of the West Virginia Chapter of To The Moon and Back and Owner of Powell Physical Therapy

Rhonda Edmunds, RN, NTMNC, CLC- Director of Nursing, Lily’s Place

Molly McMillion, RN, BSN, IBCLC, LCCE- Special Projects Consultant, West Virginia Perinatal Partnership

Jennifer Mills Price, Psy.D.- Assistant Professor, Marshall Family Medicine and Project Director of Healthy Connections
