As the nonprofit closes its doors, it supports organizations advocating for kids in the Mountain State
CHARLESTON, W.Va.—Think Kids is donating $5,000 to Disability Rights of West Virginia (DRWV) to support their work to protect and advocate for the human and legal rights of West Virginia’s kids with cognitive, physical, mental or emotional disabilities.
Established in 1979, DRWV informs, educates, trains, assists, and implements a system to protect the rights of West Virginians with disabilities. Their services include investigating abuse and neglect. Currently, Priority #1 with DRWV is to ensure that children and youth with disabilities receive an appropriate education.
To Think Kids’ Executive Director, Kelli Caseman, their work is invaluable and often unrecognized, “We have always admired Disability Rights of West Virginia and are thankful for the opportunities we’ve had to collaborate with them to highlight the needs of our state’s children with disabilities. It’s not always easy work. So this donation is a great way for us to show them how valuable we think their work is.”
Susan Given, Executive Director of DRWV, shared a thoughtful reply to Think Kids via email, “Your generous donation is deeply appreciated. There is much work to be done to ensure the welfare and safety of children in West Virginia. I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to your organization’s dedication and hard work. You will be greatly missed.”
